Testing 1...2..3...

I'm trying out this whole...delayed posting. But if it shows up at the wrong time, oh well.

I've been trying to make more of an effort to use the stamps that I buy. I know it may sound crazy, but I buy stamps and never use them for months. Some times ever. And in reading other blogs I know I'm not the only one guilty of this. So I do what I do best. I keep an excel list of the things I want (a very long list) and the things I buy. Once I buy them, I highlight them in red until I've made a card with them. Yes, I know, I'm a bit batty. But it helps me keep track.

This is a card I made using Verve's newish (okay well a few months old already) Thankful Accents set. I stamped it over PTI's spring rain cardstock in enchanted evening and cut out the four corner accents. Then for the background I used PTI's text background in enchanted evening again over soft stone cardstock.

This was a card for some of my christmas thanks, so I attempted to make the focal image look a bit like an ornament. I dont know if that came across very well...

Procrastination at its best

There's about a million other things I should be doing right now. But I'm not. I've been reorganizing my stamps. Maybe it was inspirations from Jessica's editorial in the TGF newsletter. I really wanted those binders. Or some other way to organize my stamps so I can admire them without actually stamping...

So instead of housework, I pulled out my label maker, went through all my cds and made a royal mess. But the end result I have a bunch of my TGF, Verve and Bellas in a neat orderly PTI-esque fashion. And while pretty...it kind of makes me sad. I mean how many other people can fit their most beloved stamps in a single shoe box?

I need more.


So for today's card, I was totally inspired and a bit case-y with this one. I just loved the card Lynda made in the Verve's starstruck gallery. It was so clean and simple. And of course I've been obsessed with the TGF Rockstar Anya. So I decided to combine the two.

I have a friend that we play Rock Band with alot. But being a boy, I couldnt very well send him a Rockstar Anya card. Well I could but I dont think he'd appreciate it as much. So I altered, or more like paper pieced, Rockstar Ian. Can you tell which ones I used? Its Edward's legs, the guitar and body are part of Anya, only I had to cut a bit of her shirt off b/c it looked a bit too flarey girlie. Then of course Skater Ian's head. Then I used some spica glitter pens to color in the stars. Even though the hubs said glittery was kinda girlie I dont care. Hehe...

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge, Take One

I gotta keep it short and sweet since its late and I pinched a nerve in my neck. Threw it out. Something. All I know is, this whole "aging" thing, really not my cup of tea.

Anyways, Dawn McVey had another Raspberry Suite Color Challenge and I decided to play along. She always has the most fabulous color combinations. I stamped each of the colored panels with a different background stamp. The aqua panel came out pretty light. Maybe next time I'll have to experiment with different colors to get it to pop a bit more.

Monochromatic Mercy

This week's Monday Mania theme on the Club Anya's website is to use a Monochromatic Color scheme. Did I spell that correctly? And I know its a bit cliche but how could I not choose pink. As apparent from my blog, its pretty much my favorite color.

I colored up TGF's Rockstar Anya (who's my current fav) in various shades of pink. Then I used a bit of stickles over her headband and guitar and thought it be a nice touch to put the diamond glaze over it all too. B/c guitars should be shiney and sparkly. Only I got really impatient and didnt want to let the glaze dry overnight, so I whipped out my heat gun. Really. Bad. Idea. The glue got all weird and really white and clumpy in all the wrong places. So I kinda wiped it all off. Then covered all my messed up bits in glitter. But I'm just going to say I think the glitter gives the card a bit of dimension...hehe.

Then in trying to decide a layout I remember loving this card by Jodi. Which so happened to be a Mercy sketch. And doesnt Mercy just have the greatest sketches?

Quickie Mojo Friday

Quickie post since we're on our way out the door to fix the hub's phone. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to function on a phone that dies after 5 minutes of talk? I dont quite remember what we did before cellies, oh yeah. We showed up 3 hours late to surprise birthday parties. *g*

Anyways, this my take on this week's Mojo Monday, MOJO120. It is an uber fabulous sketch. I broke out my old Memory Box pattern papers and paired it up w/ my new Verve Sweet Valentines sentiment. I daubered some Memento angle pink for the sentiment panel. Then I colored in the hearts w/ a pink spica glitter pen and covered the whole thing with some diamond glaze. I'm digging the glossy glittery effect.

A Rainy January

You know how some times a card just comes together and everything is fabulous? This was not one of those cards.


I love the doodlebug paper but I've always had issues matching it with other things. Anyway enough complaining. I inked up Rain for the upteenth time, but she's adorable. My coworker loves her too and asked (read: demanded) a birthday card w/ Rain. And her daughter's birthday is sometime this month.


I embossed some white cardstock with Divine Swirls and ran it through my Bug again w/a circle spellbinder. Then I mounted my cut out Rain on top it. Sponged some memento ink over the tag to finish it off.

Howdy, 2010!

I'm totally digging this week's Copic Color Challenge colors of Yellow Green (YG03), Prune (BV02) and Light Crockery Blue (B93). I have no idea what crockery is supposed to be. Like plates? Some descendant of a crocodile?

When I saw the colors I automatically thought of uninked tee pee in my TCP's Having a Powwow set.
The layout is based on Jen's SFYTT but I took some liberties. Personally I dont really like to use one card for multiple challenges, but what can I say. Sometimes I'm a big hypocrite. Puffy jacket, anyone? Plus the whole thing just kinda came together. And after I spent about three days on a TGF card, it was a very nice change of pace for everything to just fall into place.
