MFT Monday

Its too late to start a card, so I figured I'd just blog about one. This card is from one of my favoritest sets from My Favorite Things, Rain or Shine. Its an awesome stamp b/c her dress is super easy to paper piece. So I can incorporate all the tons of pretty paper I like to hoard. I used my copic marker to color the paper flower to match the rest of the card (b/c sometimes I like to be matchy matchy like that). And I used the ribbon wrapping button technique from Susan's Interview with a Button.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: MFT Rain or Shine
Paper: DCWV Spring Glitter Stack & SU!
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Copics
Accessories: BG Button, paper flower & ribbon

TCP Tuesday...

Its TCP Tuesday on Saturday.

My card today was based off of Toni's inspirational photo of some delish and pretty cocktails. Poochie is on his way to Happy Hour after a very long week of work...and he just cant get there fast enough.

Déjà vu?

So does anyone else have a strong sense of déjà vu? Similiar images and theme's but not quite. It seems like this blog is quickly becoming a shrine to all things TCP. But I can’t help it. I am a creature of habit (those that know me are rolling their eyes and muttering “understatement of the year”).

The first card uses a stamp from TCP’s Smells like cake. I’ve used this image for so many cards, you’d think I’d be getting sick of it. But fortunately, b/c I get my money’s worth, I’m not. I love these little penguin dudes. And of course the paper is a repeat from the other post, BG’s Eva pack. Which is funny b/c my mama’s name is Eva. Perhaps I’ll do a tribute post of cards based off that pack. But eh…tribute to mom can wait…hehe. Now my mom’s probably thinking “ingrate” but what else is new…

The second card is another piratey card from the TCP’s Arghh! Piratey. I wanted to keep it simple b/c I just loved the way the treasure chest came out. Though it’s essentially the same as the treasure chest in the last post. In my defense, I did this card before the previous card. This is also a Mojo Monday sketch. And you know, I never claim to be crafty. I enjoy riding waves of other people’s brilliance.

Rest assured, I will have new cards with different stamps. And *gasp* they wont be TCP’s. Okay maybe I’ll post one or two, but I’ve got a few from different stamp companies. And I probably love them nearly as much…maybe.

Laters, yo.

My First Post

How does one start off their very first post? Something clever? Something insightful? How about I just start off w/ a card instead, as I am feeling neither clever nor insightful. Besides its why you (meaning Nina) came to this blog anyway right?

So this card is from one of my favorite TCP sets (okay actually they're all my favorite sets), Arrgh! Piratey. And its based off of a Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge Sketch.
Did I mention I wasnt feeling very clever?
But I do love the way it turned out. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pix but the pirate's chest is blinged up. Because a girl's gotta love her pretty shiney stuff.

This card is done w/ TCP's You say its your birthday. Its ironic really b/c I loathe cake. Dont like it. At all.
But when its all pink, pretty and sparkly, what's not to love? (Just so long as I dont have to eats it...)

Anyways I think that's enough for today.

Sneaky peaks...
