What's up?

Originally I was going to give this card to my mother for her birthday. I thought it would've been hilarious. Unfortunately I didnt finish on time.

I paper pieced TGF hot air balloon in Fly Away. I also added a bit of clouds in the same paper pack set. I had to hand write the sentiment on the outside as well as the inside. Mostly I was way too lazy to print anything out on the computer.

Then I added another sheet to the inside of the card so the sentiment stands alone but you can still write a note on the second page.

I ended up sending it to my mom so she could use it. But I like it. All cutesy and pretty on the outside, but scathingly sarcastic in the inside. Like oh so many people I know...

Mojolicious...Tuesday

The Christmas tree is not packed away. The presents are still under the tree (newly unwrapped). And the rubbish of the wrapping papers is still in the trash bag...next to the tree.

Our house is a disaster zone.

And what am I doing?

Stamping, of course. Anyway this is my card for this week's Mojo Monday. I'm not quite sure what got me out of bed on monday mornings before I discovered the awesomeness of Mojo Monday, but it at least gives me some funness to look forward to every monday.

I broke out my new Verve set, Thankful Accents, and mixed up some of my favorite Versamagic colors. I'm very much digging the turquoise, seafoamish blue and olive combo. And I just adore the flourish goodness in this set. Its soo pretty.

The Dets:
Stamps: Verve Thankful Accents
Ink: Versamagic turquoise gem & aquatic splash, Versacolor bamboo & pinecone

Twas the night

Before Christmas and all through the house...

Tonight's xmas eve. And I have a whole four day weekend. In the hustle and bustle of trying to get all my gifts out and such, I completely forgotten about this little project. I used Jen's classic pizza box (on Verve and TCP) to make this sweet little holder for my PTI holiday tags.

Here's a closer up of the tags. I love the saddle stitch ribbon I found from Michaels.

Have Yourself...

A merry little christmas...blah blah blah blah blaaaahhhh....

I dont know the rest of the words. I think there's something about through the years and something shining bright? Anyone who really knows me is well aware that I dont know the words to half the songs I sing (horribly off-key). Mostly I just make it up as I go along. Not to sound unpatriotic, but my rendition of our nation's anthem...lets just say I'm fairly certain our forefathers didnt sing about sadist stars, land lovers and eryant ways.

Anyway, this is nearly my very last card I've got in my xmas stash. I'm saving the last one b/c I sent it to Nina and didnt want to give her a sneaky peak. Or a chance to say, I dont like this card, gimme another one. Tough. Hehe...

This card is based on Jen's SFYTT. I dont think I've ever officially participated (on time). But there's a first for everything. This is my xmas card to my honey, who doesnt read my blog so I'm not ruining any surprises there. I still have alot of paper left in my eskimo kiss paper pack so I tried to use my favs.

My Tutu gave to me...

One mynah bird in one papaya tree

This card is a shameless case off of Toni's card in the TCP gallery. Originally I wasnt going to post it but it was by far my favoritest christmas card. And it was super super easy to make. I just love the classic layout. And without that many layers either. Normally my cards have tons of layers, but this was ones like a few cuts and...pau. This was also my most favorite dp in the eskimo kiss paper pack. Its too bad it took one entire 6x6 to make the card (and I made two)...

Sorry if the picture's bad, but my MIL was in town so my photo box was put away.

Christmas Break

I'm taking a break from christmas.

So I was chatting with my pal Nina and she's going to be making a TCP Cowboy card for her hubs. I thought it would be hilarious if she used this sentiment, but then we figured her sisters would tease her way too much.

And so the frog prince card was born. Its based off of this week's fabulous TCP Tuesday sketch by Jen Del Muro. It may be a bit too busy, but I was going for humor rather than...whatever. And I got a laugh out of my hubs, so mission accomplished I guess.

Lets. Go. Bows.

Wahine Volleyball is on tonight. I havent seen them play for years. I remember watching the games at Klum Gym with my dad. That was well over...a really long time ago. Anyone remember Sarah Chase? She was my favoritest player.

Anyway this is a card I should've posted at least two months ago. Originally it was for a Viva La Verve sketch but I never actually got around to posting it. It would've been a bit more spirited if this was green, black and white instead of purple, but oh well. I'm taking a break from my christmas cards. I thought I was all set and ready but then between Thanksgiving and now I lost a week. And I really needs it back.

I have to get back to watching, as the Bows are currently disadvantaged by like six-inches in height by the other team.

Jolly Good

Its another jolly holiday card. This one features the cute little airplane santa from TCP's Candyland Christmas. I broke out my old MB christmas brights collection. I think the bright reds and greens in this collection just scream TCP to me. You cant really see in the picture but I glitterfied the white areas on Santa's plane w/ some spica clear glitter.

So I've gotta get back to voting for So You Think You Can Dance. I was sooo disappointed last week when Mollee and Legacy got voted off. Sooo upset. Lots of yelling at the tv ensued. But I was glad that Russell got a Nappy Tabs routine for the finale. They're definitely my favorite choregraphers for hip hop.

A Holly Jolly...Case

Last week...or the week before, or something, Sparkle (from Sparkle Creation) made this uber fabulous card. I thought it was awesome. It was a perfect card that showed off all the lovely patterns in BG's indian summer. Which coincidentally is one of my favs. Anyway I knew I just had to create one like it.

So I broke out one of my MB xmas sets and set to work. I cut squares of a few of the patterns. Then colored and mounted the gingerbread house doggie. And see, I even have the same wavy punch. In fact, I'm fairly sure it was her cards that made me want to go out and obtain that pretty punch. Not sure if you can see in the picture, but I added some crystal stickles to the top of the doggie's house.

Santa baby...

I want a yacht, and really that's not a lot. Been an angel all year.

I dont like very many christmas songs, but this one cracks me up. Probably helps a bit that Taylor Swift sings it on her cd. And I heart Taylor Swift. We saw her in concert this year and she's hilarious, totally sarcastic. I dig her dry witty humor. Though I could've done without the thousands of high pitch screaming fangirls.

For the card, I paper pieced the Angel Anya dress and bow. Then colored her and mounted it onto a scalloped circle I had embossed w/ my snowflakes folder. I sponged the snowflakes w/ some white versamagic to make it stand out a bit more. I also cant reference the sentiment maker b/c I cant read the brand name. But its one inherited from my mama. I thought it fit perfectly with Angel Anya.

Its Christmas time in...

the city. And burrrrr its freezing. Not to sound like a weenie, b/c I know there are parts of the country that's colder...but the teens...in Seattle???

Good thing I've got the two hour SYTYCD to keep my occupied. And the top 8 is just sooo fabulous tonight...what happens when everyone does super awesomely?

On to the card...this is a TE sketch from a few weeks ago. I took a bit of liberties w/ the sentiment. Did I mention this is my all time favorite christmas sentiment? I found the ribbon at Michaels and I'm putting it on every single card I can possibly get away with. Aint it awesome? I just love the saddle stitch.

TCP Christmas

I just finished twenty-two christmas cards. And now there's a pain in my neck. Literally.

But on the plus side, I just discovered my new favoritest color combow. This tealish bluey lagoon color and red. Or in copic language, BG32 Aqua Mist & R46 Strong Red. Its awesome. Just simply awesome.

So of course I made a bunch of cards featuring this particular color combo.

Dear Santa

...I can explain...

This sentiment just cracks me up. Maybe because it's probably the kind of letter I'd have to write Santa. I don't know. The hubs didnt find it nearly as funny as I did. But to each their own I guess.

So start off this card, I broke out my brand new cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. I sponged some white ink over it after I ran it through to make the impression stand out a bit more. I've been on a non-trad christmas colors kick. I still love the bright green and red but pink and frosty blue screams winter to me. Although I suppose shorts and t-shirt isnt normal winter attire. Then again, if you're born & raised in Hawaii...

More Bookmarks

So this is the culmination of what I worked on all weekend. When did my first bookmark months ago, I didnt realize that it was quite such a work intensive process. Plus I always forget how I'm supposed to glue the flowers on. Which means I end up gluing it on wrong and then have to cut a whole slew more...And of course I ran out of black ribbon late saturday night, so I had to brave the post-thanksgiving craft stores for more.

But the end product came out pretty...so I suppose its all good.

Long time no post....

Hiya...this is going to be a ridiculously short post. I made this card for my dad's bday. I broke out my TCP stamps a few weeks (maybe a month...) ago to play along w/ one of their TCP tuesday color challenges. I totally loved the color combo of turquoise, light blue and...black? White? I think it was black. But this was my try at a "boy" card and I got to use my brand new (early xmas present) of the scalloped circle spellbinders set.

Christmas-y Verve Project Parade

It's a new month and that means a new Verve Project Parade. This month's theme is Home for the Holiday's: Gifts, Decor & More. The theme was an excellent platform to get my butt in gear for holiday decorating. I'm not sure about others, but I never know how to display christmas cards we get. Our first year in our house, we ended up putting them on our xmas tree b/c we had no ornaments.

I knew I also wanted to incorporate some kind of banner them. I've been inspired by all these fabulous banners popping up on uber talented blogger's sites. So I started with stamps from Verve's Starstruck and Winter Mittens as well as PTI's 2009 Holiday Tags. I stamped a bunch of tags and adhered jumbo paperclips to the back of each.

Then I broke out my Storybook cricut cartridge to cut out the letters and Accent Essentials for the backing of the letters. I used plain creme cardstock for the letters and topped it w/ pink glitter. I had some giant gold ribbon from costco, so I attached two long panels to my banner. I decided to go w/ the slightly non-traditional christmas colors of rasberry/pink, green and gold mostly b/c it matched the pattern paper I chose. Well that and pink is my favoritest color.
Here's a detail shot of the letter.

Then I used my tag clips to adhere some cards. I'm pretty happy w/ the way it came out. Often my projects dont quite come out like they were in my head. And depending on how much cards we get, I'll probably have to add another two gold ribbons to attach more cards. But we'll see...

This project pretty much took all afternoon, in which I listened to the Glee soundtrack on repeat for about five hours.

Xmas Card Set

This past Tuesday was my sister's birthday and I decided to send her a card set. I made this awesome little box that holds a dozen cards plus envelopes. Then I decorated the outside with coordinating paper that I had used on the cards. So everything's matching, but not too matchy matchy.

Here's a picture of the outside all wrapped up.

And this is the inside with the cards. I used a favorite Mari & Me image along with some of my old (but I have a ton of) MB christmas bright's paper. We're both born and raised on Oahu (though we live in the Mainland now) so the hawaiian theme sort of fits. I just love the aloha santa doing his shaka. He reminds me so much of the Giant Santa they used to put up in Ala Moana every year.

Finally...Guide Lines

So I finally put together my card for the TESC sketch this week. I've been playing around with my new PTI Guide Lines and finally came out with a pattern I liked. I used an old favorite color combo of mine, Versamagic Pink Petunia and Pixie Dust. The Pixie Dust is fairly light and probably a little hard to see in the picture.

I think I need a better camera. Or perhaps different lighting for my photo box.

Anyways, its finally almost the weekend. And it couldnt have come sooner. TGIF...

CCC Tuesday

This week's Copic Color Challenge was Rose Red (R85), Spectrum Green (G02) and Robin's Egg Blue (B02). So I used TGF's Miss Anya. Isn't her bag adorable? I thought about paper piecing her bag but didnt have matching paper. Oh well, perhaps next time.

Just a {Pink} Note

I finally got my brand spankin' new Take Note set from PTI. Let me just say, the designers at Papertrey Ink are geniuses. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do w/ it. I had all these lovely stamps but I just couldnt "see" it put together. In the end, I ended up breaking out a sheet of my most favorite October Afternoon dp and left it fairly simple. Some pink buttons and pink pearls and I was all set.

Oops, I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but its got a nicely white, lined paper pad inside and I even made a pocket to hold stuff.

The Dets:
Stamps: PTI Take Note
Paper: October Afternoon ducks in a row pack, Stardream azalea, black & cream cardstock

American Girl Anya

I've been playing with my new PTI stuff and hit a bit of a block. So I decided to change courses and try out an idea I had for this week's Anyone for Anya. This week's challenge was to use the colors of our flag. It was a bit difficult, b/c while I love my country, I'm just not that fond of the red and blue on my cards. But Nina told me that I could not pose from another country b/c she was pretty sure there werent any pink & brown flags.

Anyway, this is what I came up with. I colored in TGF's Angel Anya. I havent used her before and figured, what the heck. I added a bit of stickles to her wings and went over her halo with some gold lame smooch. And you totally cannot tell from the picture, but I ran the blue panels through my bug and embossed it w/ spots & dots.

I left it unsentimented b/c I'm not quite sure what I'm going to use it as. A patriotic thank you? Know anybody born on the 4th of July?

A Taylored Anya

So begins the week of birthdays. I've got five cards to go and I'm already a day late.

I inked up my TGF Rain, again. She's gotta be my all time favorite anya. I used this week's sketch challenge on the Taylored Expressions blog. She's got such awesome sketches. And I so excited when I discovered the herringbone print in one of my old Memory Box christmas paper packs. I tried my hand at red hair, thought it'd fit perfect b/c my grandma's had reddish hair for as long as I can remember.

The Dets:

TCP Tuesday...

Wowzas. Its been forever since I've posted (or made) a TCP card. And I had totally forgotten how much I love these stamps. So Amy was the Hostess with the Mostest a few weeks ago and issued a TCP Tuesday Buttons Challenge. I looked through all my sets b/c I wanted to somehow incorporate it into the image. And lo and behold, this image came to mind. The wheels of Sprinkles train fit my BG buttons purr-fectly.

I even broke out my super old Memory Box Christmas paper pack. I think the old school MB style of bold, bright colors and not too much of the distressed look matches Sprinkles to the T.

More Verve-age

So I had intended to post pictures of my latest project. However, it is a pressie for my li'l sis, who's birthday is in a bit. So on the off chance that she (or my mom) happens upon this post, I've opted to wait. I'll probably post the project next week sometime.
Anyway this is a quickie card I did on a mojo sketch I really really liked. I used my favoritest and well-loved Verve set Wishing You. I'm sure you've heard me spout the fabulousness about this set, but it truly rocks.

CCC Take 2

Okay...second post of the night. This week's Copic Color Challenge was to use Olive (G99), Amethyst (V17) and Orange (YR68). I've been using this green, orange and purple combo for alot of my halloween cards, so it was a bit of a challenge to make it un-halloweeny.

Anyways, I finally inked up my TGF's Susie Surprise. I think she's adorable, but mostly I bought her for the cupcakes that came with it. Only I havent really made a card w/ those cupcakes...

Hopefully the card is not too halloween-y.

The Dets:
Stamps: TGF Susie Surprise, Amuse happy birthday
Paper: Poppy snow and cedar, MB vanilla bean, SU!
Ink: Versafine black, Versacolor orange, Memento black, Spica black
Accessories: Cuttlebug swirls, Nesties ribbon tag, ribbon

Short and Sweet Verve-age

Its rainy and gloomy and my card that I was working on for the CCC is just not happening. So...I decided to post instead.

Mostly I was just super jazzed that the star w/ the flourishes fit perfectly inside my Nesties labels 9. So I stamped it in some pink and embossed the sentiment in some brilliance chocolate. I layered it on top of my new favorite BG paper pack and ta-dah. Quick and super easy verve-age.

No idea what I'm going to use the card for...

Bellarific...Saturday

Me thinks I tend to post in groups of stamp sets...

I try to intersperse my posts, but normally when I sit down for some stamping, I tend to use like one set and make a bunch of cards. And thus there's a whole bunch of posts looking alike.

But oh well.

I decided to post this card b/c it was for the Bellarific Friday/Saturday cards today. This weeks theme was flowers. And I dont really have any bella stamps that are specifically flower tied, but I always kind of thought that Agnes Ketto's skirt looked a bit like flower petals.

Anyway I even broke out my martha stewart punch, which I bought specifically for a project but havent started said project. And I got to use my new spellbinder ribbon tags. Have I mentioned how much I *love* my bug???

The Dets:
Stamps: Stamping Bella Agnes Ketto, Savvy Stamps thank you

A Spooktacular Mojo Monday

I hadnt intended to post any more halloween cards. But since I based it off a Mojo Monday Sketch and actually finished it on time, I figured what the heck.

I got to use my brand newish Spellbinders labels 9. Do you have any idea how much I love these little dies? They're fan-tabulous. After I die cut it, I ran it through my bug again using the swiss dots folders. I think I dot just about everything now.

Probably cant really tell b/c the paper is too dark, but I also adhered some orange jewel stickers to both sides of the bottom panel.

The Dets:
Stamps: TGF Spooktacular, MB Trick or Treat
Paper: MB Mango, BG eerie paper pack, white & black cardstock
Ink: Copics, Memento Black
Accessories: kaiser jewels, ribbon, cuttlebug swiss dots, spellbinders labels 9

Floaty Piggy

I was going through my file of pictures to post and realized that I completely forgot to post this little guy. This may be the last of the piggy cards I had done, but this was by far my favorite.

You cant see that clearly in the pix, but I paper pierced a bit using my template to make it look like he's bouncing along. I'm not quite sure I'm ever going to learn that paper piercing on pattern paper doesnt really work so well.

The Dets:
Stamps: TGF Fly Away
Paper: MB Mocha, SU!, Cosmo Cricket good earth, October Afternoon Ducks in a Row
Ink: Memento Black, Versafine Black, Copics
Accessories: Cuttlebug swirls, kaiser jewels, ek success border punch

Li'l Pumpkin Head SFYTT

So this is one of my last halloween cards I have made. Its a very late (like two or three weeks) card for Jen's SFYTT.

I seriously love this layout b/c it showcases one of my favorites in the BG eerie paper pack. I think alot of times paper I really like gets covered up by lots of layers. But the layout of this card shows off a single piece of pattern paper, but still adds dimension and interest to it.

Jen is a serious genius.

A {Mojo} Ode to Li

Li is awesome. But that's all I've gotta say on this subject. Anyway in honor of Li being awesome I thought this sentiment worked well. More verve-age, but Verve is awesome.

Anyway, I've had Agnes ketto forever now and havent inked her up yet. I even broke out my heat gun and embossing powder. I havent embossed in ages but I do love the way things come out.

So, I think she's adorable, and a bit sassy. I used a bit (...alot really) of gold smooch for her wings. And then I paper pieced parts of her dress.

I used my brand new cuttlebug (insert mass amounts of squealing here) w/ the spots and dots folder to create the pink panel. And then I used the spellbinder's labels 9 for the sentiment. The sketch is based on this weeks Mojo Monday. And hopefully Mr. Linky's not closed yet...

Here's a close up of Agnes Ketto in all her pink and gold glory.

Verve Project Parade

So this is a card project I put together for this month's Verve Project Parade. I was sooo excited to get my very first Verve sets this week. And the Wishing You set is hands down one of my all time favorites. Its just so pretty and elegant. It's a whole bunch of sentiments, but they're perfect for every occassion.

Anyway, this month's theme is Encouraging Words/Friendship. And I had the idea (b/c I'm in my holiday gift idea mode) to do a Year of Cards gift. Inside this little portfolio is a card for every "season." Sort of. And I'm always trying to figure out new ways of packaging my cards. I saw this idea on the SCS form, but it was for a smaller more photo album type deal. I thought it would be cute to modify it to hold the four seasonal cards.

I tried to choose four different Basic Grey paper packs that I thought coordinated with each season, Porcelain for Spring, Lemonade for summer, Indian Summer for fall and Eskimo for winter. I made four cards using each paper pack.

Then I created envelope holders for each card. It turned out a bit more complicated then originally planned b/c I couldn't just cut a piece of paper and glue it directly to the panel. I had to create...tabs? So the cards could slide into each pocket. Then I added a piece of the pattern cardstock so it had a bit more cohesive look.

I'll have more later this weekend with close-ups and details of the cards. But for now I'm having enough issues trying to format three pictures in one post. How do people do it??

Where o where...

Where oh where does the time go? I made this card on Sunday, and apparently, it is now Wednesday.

Anyway, this is the TE Sketch Challenge from last week Friday. And once again Taylor delivered a super fabulous sketch. I got to break out my new set from Verve. Oh how I love verve-age. Seriously...Nina's been hearing about it all week.

I stamped the sentiment from Meditations set in Versafine black. Then I went over it with the flower from the same set in some Versamagic ink. And I paper pierced both panels. Though I suppose it doesnt show up too well on the pattern panel.

But on the plus side, the week is over half over and tonight is Dance. And I am hoping that the Krump dude makes it. *fingers crossed*

Nico needs a girlfriend

Nico di Angelo needs a girlfriend. This is my new mission. Think Granger and S.P.E.W. Only its...NNAG...N-nag...hehe.

Anyone who's read Percy Jackson and the Olympians should know who I'm talking about. Nico maybe a little young now, but he needs a nice girlfriend. He's got alot of potential what with his father being...ooh, I dont wanna spoil it. But if you read the series, you know who I'm talking about.

And so for the first suitor (is it a suitor if its a chick?) I present Ms. Anya Frankenstella. Her hair's a bit wacky but the whole halloween theme might just suit Nico and his...er...background.

Of course you cant tell from the pix, but the whites in her hair is glitterfied. And I paper pieced the dress to make it matchy matchy. B/c while I'm still trying go get the hang of Stacey and Clinton "as long as it goes" theory.

Ginny Witch

Ginny is often my least favorite character in the HP series. I'm not quite sure why, I think she's just a bit blah. Actually I dont really dig any of the Weasleys with the exception of the Twins. But this li'l witch was just begging to for carrot red, Weasley hair...hence Ginny witch.

It may be hard to see in the pix but I cut the wording with my cricut then went over it all in a bit of black glitter. Okay more than a bit of black glitter.

Paper: MB mango, black & white cardstock, BG eerie paper pack

Spooktacular Get Well

The hub's dad took a spill on his bike and he's injured. So this is the get well card I made for him. I've been on a halloween kick lately (read as: I've havent cleaned my craft table in a while and halloween papers are everywhere) so I made it a bit of a halloween-ish get well card.

The statement's a little cheesy but I had to tie in the mummy some how. And I hand wrote the sentiment b/c I was also too lazy to print it. :)

And so continues the halloween card parade. I think I only have about five more to go...
