Quickie little post

Hehe...long time no post. I've been busy watching old Veronica Mars episodes. Its awesome.

Anyway, this is the other gorjuss girls card I made a really really long time ago. I opted for a non-traditional hair color b/c she's just kinda...funky like that. I stamped her on an oval panel die cut w/ my spellbinders and mounted it on a scalloped panel.

The Dets:
Stamps: Gorjuss Girls Pigeon Girl, Stamping Bella sentiment
Paper: MB notecard, BG wisteria
Ink: Copics, Memento
Accessories: kaiser jewel flowers, glitter, ribbon, spellbinder scalloped & standard ovals

Hello...Kitty

Yeah...I bought the Hello Kitty cricut cartridge. But it was really really cheap. And I got brainwashed whilst at home, wanting all kinds of cutesy stuff, which included hello kitty. Plus I've been trolling all these awesome Hawaii girl blogs and they've got the coolest HK cards. Suffice to say, when I saw it on sale at Joanns the other day, I had to have it.

I made the background with my PTI tin types background in Melon Berry ink. Then I stamped another background from the set in fresh snow ink on the same red paper I used to die cut her dress. The cricut was sooo awesome...I cut out three different kitties in different sizes just to get a feel for how big they were. Sooo easy...

The Dets:
Stamps: PTI tin types background, TCP smells like cake
Paper: PTI melon berry, black, pink & red cardstock from Michaels
Inks: PTI melon berry, fresh snow
Accessories: Cricut Hello Kitty cartridge, PTI melon berry ribbon, stardust gelly roll, smooch gold

Lots of Stamps, One Little Card

The other day I attempted to do one of the most difficult things (that I think anyway) in card making. I had to make a boy card. *g* Today is the hub's brother's birthday and whilst I offered to send his bro a totally cutesy TGF card, he politely decided.

So I racked my brain a bit, brought out a great deal of stamps and did a bunch of backgrounds in blue, black & grey color themes. B/c really that's all my "boy" cards are - cards in blue. I brought out my PTI retro backgrounds and stamped it in enchanted evening ink over some matching cardstock. Then I used my polka dot backgrounds 1 in black over smokey shadow. I used some Fresh navy ink to stamp the bitty dotted frame and then stamped the sentiment in black ink. It looked a bit plain so I brought out my Turning a new leaf set and stamped a couple branches on the card and the frame panel in the navy ink. Then I added a bit of pearls for dimension.

All in all, six pearls, five stamp sets, four cardstock colors, three inks...and one ribbon.

The Dets:
Stamps: PTI retro backgrounds, fillable frames #1, signature greetings, turning a new leaf and polka dot basics 1
Paper: MB notecard licorice, neenah white, PTI enchanted evening & smokey shadow
Ink: Fresh navy, Brilliance graphite black, PTI enchanted evening
Accessories: kaiser pearls, grosgrain ribbon

You're late...

For a very important date.

Well not really, but actually I'm running late to go see Alice in Wonderland. Eck! I heard it didnt get the greatest reviews but how can it be that bad when you got wonderfully kooky characters like that of Bellatrix Lestrange and Johnny Depp?

Anyway, its is a late card for this weeks Mercy's Tuesday Sketch. She's got the most fabulous sketches. When I saw the oval shape I immediately knew I wanted to ink up my brand spankin' new TGF Ruby. I remember when I first saw her on Amy's blog for the Create Your Own Sprout challenge. I absolutely loved her, so when she came out on rubber, I wasted no time in buying her. I'm still lamenting the loss of my Y21, but since Ruby just sorta demands blonde to me I had to continue on w/ my "other" blonde.

The Dets:
Stamps: TGF Ruby, PTI Signature Greetings
Ink: Memento black, Brilliance graphite black, copics, spica glitter
Paper: MB lagoon notecard, BG lemonade paper pack
Accessories: diamond glaze, ribbon, ticket punch, kaiser jewels, oval spellbinders

Dancing through life...

The title has absolutely nothing to do with the card. It's just the wicked song that's running through my head right now...Life's less painless for the brainless... If you haven't seen the play I recommend you do so right now.

Oh yeah...so the card. I finally got my PTI retro backgrounds stamp set. I've been pining for it for months now. But its been bad luck with being sold out or I've already got too much in my cart. But I finally got it for my christmas bonus whatever. I had this idea to do a gradient type rainbow effect w/ the floralish print. But I chickened out and only tried it with a bunch of blue copics first.

Then I tried to do the plaid background I've been seeing so much of. I'm really into this blue & yellow look, so I pulled out my lemon tart (which is so fabby dabby) and tried my hand at some plaidish backgrounds. Then I did that Nichole Heady trick where she puts down scor-it tape and tops it off w/ glitter. I didnt have scor-it tape, so I used some regular two way craft tape. I'm not sure if all craft tape is created equally as this one seemed to have a heavy sheen that even the glitter couldnt cover up. Then I topped it off w/ a senti from another PTI set I've been drooling over and only just bought, Signature Greetings.

Later I'll have a PTI card that I used five sets on. Wowzas...

The Dets:
Stamps: PTI retro backgrounds and Signature Greetings
Paper: MB notecards, Stardream malachite
Ink: Copics, Memento black, Versafine black, PTI lemon tart
Accessories: two way craft tape, ultrafine glitter

Another SFYTT

Here's another card based off of Jen's SFYTT. I used my TGF Susie Surprise cupcakes, colored them w/ copics and accented with a bit of glitter. I punched the flower in heavy cardstock, then punched another piece on a two way glue sheet and applied glitter. I'm still trying that glazey glitter thing but I dont know if my glaze is just old but its not coming out very shiney. Just have to keep trying I suppose...

The Dets:
Stamps: TGF Susie Surprise, TCP Smells like cake
Paper: MB notecard & sweetheart pack, PTI black
Ink: Copics, Memento black
Accessories: MS punch, glitter, diamond glaze, PTI sweet blush button, flower punch, ribbon
