Christmas-y Verve Project Parade

It's a new month and that means a new Verve Project Parade. This month's theme is Home for the Holiday's: Gifts, Decor & More. The theme was an excellent platform to get my butt in gear for holiday decorating. I'm not sure about others, but I never know how to display christmas cards we get. Our first year in our house, we ended up putting them on our xmas tree b/c we had no ornaments.

I knew I also wanted to incorporate some kind of banner them. I've been inspired by all these fabulous banners popping up on uber talented blogger's sites. So I started with stamps from Verve's Starstruck and Winter Mittens as well as PTI's 2009 Holiday Tags. I stamped a bunch of tags and adhered jumbo paperclips to the back of each.

Then I broke out my Storybook cricut cartridge to cut out the letters and Accent Essentials for the backing of the letters. I used plain creme cardstock for the letters and topped it w/ pink glitter. I had some giant gold ribbon from costco, so I attached two long panels to my banner. I decided to go w/ the slightly non-traditional christmas colors of rasberry/pink, green and gold mostly b/c it matched the pattern paper I chose. Well that and pink is my favoritest color.
Here's a detail shot of the letter.

Then I used my tag clips to adhere some cards. I'm pretty happy w/ the way it came out. Often my projects dont quite come out like they were in my head. And depending on how much cards we get, I'll probably have to add another two gold ribbons to attach more cards. But we'll see...

This project pretty much took all afternoon, in which I listened to the Glee soundtrack on repeat for about five hours.
