A {Beary Best} Mojo

Well, summer has officially started. Even if the cold and icky Seattle weather just aint cooperating, there's one undeniable fact - So You Think You Can Dance is on tonight! And wow...Season 7 looks very promising. If not for the fabulous dancers, then definitely for the entertaining ones.

Anyway, I've been digging all these challenges lately. Its been inspiring me to put a few dents in my uninked, but beloved stamp pile. So for this week's Mojo Monday, MOJO140, I brought out Stamping Bella's My Beary Best Friend. Originally I stamped and colored him on a white cardstock, but when I chose the dp, I decided cream would be better. So I cut out and mounted him on a cream cardstock. I cut up a few sheet of my beloved Good Earth paper pack. I sponged the dp layers w/ some of PTI chai tea ink. And I finally opened my spellbinders labels, which apparently I've had for months but never opened...

The Dets:
Stamps: Stamping Bella my beary best friend, PTI daily design sentiments
Paper: MB vanilla bean, Cosmo Cricket good earth
Ink: Memento black, Brilliance pearlescent chocolate, PTI chai tea dyes
Accessories: PTI ripe avocado button, PTI dark chocolate ribbon, spellbinders labels one, TCP ivory linen thread

A {Taylored} Monstah Bash

First off, let me just say that last night's episode of Glee was definitely one of my favorites. Ra-ra-ah-ah-ah, Roma roma-mama, Ga ga ooh-la-la, want your bad romance...And of course I got the cd to continue singing the madness. Half the time I dont know what I'm singing, just whatever rhymes with rah.

So I used Taylor's sketch, TESC114, for my card today. I stamped Stamping Bella's Monstah Bash and colored it in copics. I topped off the little red balloon with some brand new Crystal Effects, which made it all pretty and shiney. I used a scrap of scallop border and topped it all off with some Hawaiian Shores buttons.

The Dets:
Stamps: Stamping Bella Monstah Bash, TCP Smells like cake
Paper: MB notecards, vellum, BG lime rickey
Ink: Memento black, Copics
Accessories: PTI scalloped border, PTI hawaiian shores buttons, glitter, crystal glaze, spellbinders circles

Another {Late} Mercy Sketch

I have a confession to make. I hoard stamps. I've got loads of really pretty awesome stamps that have never seen an ink pad before. Exactly how much, well that will remain undisclosed... But when I saw Mercy's Tuesday sketch, MTSC74, I immediately thought of this little penguin.

I stamped the little penguin, then cut and mounted his ginormous hat for a little more depth. I decided to leave it sans sentiment b/c I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for. A fun, non-girly birthday or something else...

The Dets:
Stamps: TCP Hola Tequila
Paper: PTI kraft, Cosmo Cricket garden variety
Ink: Copics, Memento black
Accessories: PTI medium scallop, spellbinders circles, kaiser pearls, ribbon, corner punch

A {Retro and Week Late} SYFTT

When I saw last week's SFYTT, I was totally floored by Jodi's card, over at Stamping a Latte. I loved how she used the kraft as a base she could stamp a sentiment on. So inspired as I was, I decided to try it to.

I stamped the sentiment from my PTI Daily Designs Sentiment set on kraft cardstock, then ran it through my c-bug w/ the swiss dots embossing folder. Flipping through my stamps, I decided to bring out the original Grace (or Hope, but we think she's Grace) from the TGF Hope & Grace set. I colored her w/ copics and added some clear spica glitter to parts of her headband, bow and shoes, but it didnt really come out in this picture.. Next I mounted the oval image on a scalloped oval that I also ran through my c-bug.

I think this might be the first card I posted using my PTI medium scallop borders. I die cut it w/ some felt I picked up at my LSS. Then I used this uber pretty dp paper I also got from another LSS. Its got such pretty cheery flowers, too bad you cant really see it. And of course I finished of the card w/ a bit of raspberry fizz ribbon (to which I'm running low on so I'm extra stingy w/) and a swiss dotted kraft/felt button flower.

The Dets
Stamps: TGF Hope & Grace, PTI daily designs sentiments
Paper: PTI raspberry fizz & kraft, Basic Grey going green
Ink: Copics, memento black, versafine black, spica clear glitter
Accessories: swiss dots embossing folder, spellbinders ovals, martha stewart punch, PTI flowers & border dies, raspberry fizz button & ribbon, tcp linen thread, felt

Fuzzy Wuzzy Bunny

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a Fuzzy Bunny. Actually I think Fuzzy Wuzzy might have been a bear...

Oh well, so much for my career in reciting nursery rhymes.

Anyway, I made this card using this week's sketch, TESC113, over at the Taylored Expression blog. I stamped TGF's HG Snuggle and colored her in Copics. Then I added some white crushed velvet flock, or as the boy calls it "lint." But I might have been a little overzealous in flocking and Fuzzy Bunny turned a bit...lumpy. So I'm just gonna say that its a little more realistic. Doesn't every girl (or boy) have that favored stuffed animal they loved to death? Or at least to the point of lumpiness...

The Dets:
Stamps: TGF HG Snuggle, PTI round & round
Paper: MB notecard, My Minds Eye pretty please
Ink: Copics, Memento black & angel pink
Accessories: doodlebug crushed velvet flock, felt, PTI buttons, ivory linen thread, spellbinders tag & circles, MS punch

Get Better TCP

Okay mark your calendars because tomorrow is going to be the best night in television. Barney Stinson meets Glee. Dude...can you handle it??? I'm very excited. Especially since the previews show them singing Aerosmith's Dream On, which is like one of the awesomest songs ever.

Anyway...the card...

So last (last) week's the TCP challenge, TCPTUES108, was a stamp challenge using You Sick Thing. And since its been sitting uninked and forlorn looking since I bought it months ago, I thought maybe it was a sign that I should actually use it. I paper pieced the little blanket and colored the rest in copics. I opted for twine over ribbon b/c I thought the papers called for a more rustic look. So I pulled out some twine from our scary drawer (you know the drawer, where things go and never come back...)

The Dets:
Stamps:
TCP You Sick Thing
Paper: MB vanilla bean, PTI dark chocolate, Basic Grey max & whiskers
Ink: Copics, Memento black
Accessories: kaiser pearls, spellbinders tags, circles & labels three, twine

Clean & Simple

So this card might have been based off a CAS sketch but I'm not too sure now. I did it a while back, when I first got my long awaited Retro Backgrounds from PTI. I wanted to color the little flower thingies to form a slightly gradient look. Then I dotted the center circles w/ some gold smooch for a little continuity. And topped it w/ a sentiment from Signature Greetings, which is easily my favoritest senti set ever.

The Dets:
Stamps: PTI Retro backgrounds, Signature Greetings
Paper: PTI kraft, pure poppy
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Versafine black, copics
Accessories: kaiser pearls, MS punch, gold smooch

Got Muchness?

Even though I still have one more mama's day card to show, I've decided to take a short break in lieu of muchness. My mom is a big fan of Johnny Depp. Not so much a fangirl stalker but she really likes er...quoting him. When Pirates of the Caribbean came out, all of them, she liked to go around talking like a pirate. So of course when I was home last, her new favorite word - muchness. The word actually dates back to the 14th century, but our family pretty much uses it in terms of what makes you you.

I was inspired by all the fabulous Pure Innocence cards displayed in Jen's SFYTT this week and decided to ink up my own Flower Girl. She always seemed a little lost to me. Like she's missing her muchness.

I actually combined two different dps, something I hardly ever do. And I've been dying to use my new notebook punch, even though it doesnt quite match the card. The yellow paper is super fun and glittery. And I always love me some sparkle.

The Dets:
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Flower Girl
Paper: PTI scarlett jewel, Cosmo Cricket material girl, Basic Grey nook & pantry
Ink: Copics, Memento black, multiliner pen
Accessories: PTI flowers dies, spellbinders circles, ek success punch, Pebbles candy dots, PTI pure poppy button, TCP linen thread, gold smooch

Belated Ketto Mama's Day

It'll be a quickie post because Glee is on (so I can only type during commercial breaks).

This is the card I sent to my mama. I decided on Stamping Bella's Kenya Ketto because she sorta reminds me of my mom. Frazzled? Wild? A little edgey? Unhinged? Haha...and you thought I was going to be all sweet and sentimental...

I embossed Kenya with some clear powder. Then layered it over a spellbinder's label three panel. I sponged the edges w/ some of the PTI chai ink. I added a bit of glitter to her wand with a glue pen. Then went over her flowers w/ some gold smooch.

The Dets:
Stamps: Stamping Bella Kenya Ketto, PTI Daily Designs Sentiments
Paper: October Afternoon thrift shop, PTI pure poppy, MB lagoon notecard
Ink: Brilliance graphite black, copics, PTI chai tea inks
Accessories: Spellbinders tags, labels 3 & circles, glue pen, glitter, embossing powder, kaiser pearls, smooch gold

MOJO137 King of the Wild Things

As soon as I saw the four squares on this week's Mojo Monday Sketch, MOJO137, I immediately thought of the color papers in my BG's lime rickey pack. I thought it be an excellent sketch to finally ink my Stamping Bella's King of the Wild Things. He's soo adorable and perfect for a certain little man who's turning 4 on Monday.

I colored the King up in copics and punched out four squares for the solid papers in the BG pack. Then I added two strips of two-way tape down and dumped glitter all over it. The King is actually stamped on rectangle panels, but I die cut two of them and put them together to form more of a square shape. The colored squares of course cover where they meet.

The Dets:
Stamps: Stamping Bella King of the wild things, TCP Smells Like Cake
Paper: MB licorice notecard, PTI tuxedo black, BG lime rickey
Ink: Copics, memento black
Accessories: Smooch moonlight, kaiser jewels, square paper punch, rectangle spellbinders, glitter & tape

ATS Pixie Challenge

Don't go for second best, baby, put your love to the test...

I just got the Glee's Power of Madonna cd and wow...the cd is awesome. But that was probably one of my favoritest episodes. Santana singing...Emma singin...Kurt & Mercedes duet. And I'm still super impressed w/ Sue's singing. I wish they'd have clips of just the music & dancing...

Oh yeah...so the card...

The current ATS Wednesday Challenge was to use pink and brown. You only have to glance at my blog to know that pink is one of my favoritest colors. So with that being said, I just had to participate this week. I inked up my Swiss Pixie Birgitta and embossed her with some clear powder. Then I colored her w/ copics, but I went over the petals of her flower w/ moonlight smooch. It added just the prettiest hint of sparkle. I sponged the edges w/ some Memento angel pink and mounted it on some BG pattern paper.

A little close-up of the flowers...

The Dets:
Stamps: ATS Swiss Pixie Birgitta, PTI Daily Designs Sentiments
Paper: MB vanilla bean, BG nook & pantry
Ink: Brilliance graphite black, Memento angel pink, Copics
Accessories: spellbinder tag trio & label eight, smooch moonlight, embossing powder, kaiser pearls

A {Purely Beloved} SYFTT

So for a certain landmark birthday of mine, this awesome rockstar got me the coolest birthday gift ever. Part of it was three totally fantabulous Pure Innocence sets from MFT. This little cutie was one of them.

I embossed then colored her up w/ some copics. But I think I might've heated up some stray embossing powder, hence the weird blotchiness on her pants. I used this week's SFYTT for the layout. And I just had to add the felt/vellum/paper flower cut w/ a combination of my PTI flower dies. And I brought some of my fav Beloved paper from my horde...er...stash.

The Dets:
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Flower Girl, PTI Daily Design Sentiments
Paper: MB notecard bayou, MME beloved, vellum
Ink: Brilliance graphite black, copics, spica glitter pens, Versafine black
Accessories: PTI flower dies, felt, PTI button, embossing powder

Taylored Mothers Day

On impulse I decided to buy all three of the PTI's Guidelines set. But I've been having issues using them. Then Taylor had this awesome sketch for her sketch challenge, TESC111, this week. Add to that, I saw this great bag w/ the prettiest color scheme, dark brown, kraft & subtle aqua/turquoise.

So I brought out my guidelines sets and played with it until I found a pattern I liked best. Then with the Martha Stewart Glitter set, I added a strip of glitter to the scalloped edge. I also die cut a circle using two way sticker paper and put more glitter on that. Can I just say, her glitter is awesome. It sticks well, has tons of color and so pretty...

The Dets:
Stamps: PTI Guidelines Two, Giga Guidelines, Text backgrounds I, Daily Design Sentiments
Ink: Versamagic jumbo java, aquatic splash, sahara sand
Paper: MB vanilla bean notecard, cream cardstock
Accessories: EK punch, spellbinders circles, MS glitter, kaiser pearls, embossing powder

CCC Sunday

You know how some stamps just call to you? Well Stamping Bella's Ketto's Dolly was one of them. While sitting down to try and finish the many Mothers Day cards I need (seven...), this stamp was just begging for my attention.

I thought this week's Copic Color Challenge, B02-BV02-YG03, would be a perfect trio for coloring her dress. I also added some smooch pool to her ribbons & trim. It added a very nice sparkley sheen. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture but I actually added some glitter w/ a glue pen to the ribbons on her shoes. Then I added a mix vellum & felt die cut flower using my new PTI flower dies & topped it w/ a Hawaiian Shores button.

The Dets:
Stamps: Stamping Bella Ketto's dolly, PTI Daily Design Sentiments
Paper: MB notecard & poppy finch paper pack, vellum
Ink: Copics, Memento black
Accessories: PTI flowers #3 die, spellbinder long rectangles, smooch pool, PTI hawaiian shores button, white felt, krafters floss, glue pen & glitter, MS punch
